Leadership, Management and Entrepreneurship Steering Group
Collectively, employers in the West Midlands have identified improvements in leadership, management and entrepreneurship skills as a top priority for improving business performance. Yet individual employers fail to see the direct benefits to their own organisations. They complain that current support is patchy, too focused on qualifications and fails to engage them in a way that convinces them that skills development is a business investment not a cost.
The goal of the Leadership, Management and Entrepreneurship Steering Group is to work with employers in the West Midlands to achieve a step change in business performance through improved leadership, management and entrepreneurship skills. The group is led by the demands of business.
The group has three core objectives:
- Build evidence. Work with employers to gain a better understanding of the barriers and links between leadership, management and entrepreneurship skill and business support.
- Work with employers to better align supply and improve links between leadership, management and entrepreneurship skills and business benefits. Integrate specialist brokerage and support for leadership, management and entrepreneurship skills into business support services.
- Build demand and address attitudinal barriers.
